Position Summary
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Project Engineer is responsible for identifying client needs and coordinating plant projects. They ensure compliance, quality, and deadlines while minimizing costs.
Responsibilities
 - Coordinate plant projects, including new lines, modifications, or redesigns. Update plant layouts as needed.
 - Oversee installation projects to ensure quality and timely delivery.
 - Manage third-party contractors.
 - Ensure safe execution of work under their responsibility.
 - Adhere to budgets and bidding processes.
 - Analyze technology, assess business needs, and evaluate market trends to identify and procure equipment that aligns with project requirements.
 - Take ownership of all automation initiatives.
 - Collaborate with various departments to meet client project needs.
 - Manage and follow up on requests from internal teams.
 - Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
 - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering field, or equivalent work experience.
 - 5+ years of direct project engineering and/or plant maintenance experience (required).
 - Preferred experience in the food or pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
 - Leadership skills: Ability to lead and motivate project teams, delegate tasks effectively, identify new opportunities, work with discipline, prioritize, and formalize paybacks.
 - Industry knowledge: Familiarity with relevant industry codes, regulations, and standards.
 - Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills; ability to identify and resolve technical issues and challenges.
 - Project management skills: Strong time management and analytical skills.
 - Excellent oral and written communication skills, judgment, ethics, integrity, and result-oriented approach; ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
 - Experience using Microsoft Project or equivalent and other computer-based applications (iPad, OneNote, etc.); ability to use AutoCAD.
 - Ability to adapt and improvise to operational changes and requirements; ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging, and consistently changing environment.
